He served as transport policy spokesman for the CDU/CSU parliamentary group in the Bundestag from 1989 to 2014. From November 2007 to the end of October 2021, he was president of the Hamburg Football Association (HFV). He was also a member of the board of the German Football Association (DFB).

My story

Football official

In November 2007, he became President of the Hamburg Football Association (HFV) and a member of the Executive Board of the German Football Association (DFB). At the end of August 2021, Fischer announced his resignation as Chairman of the HFV to allow for a rejuvenation of the association's leadership. Fischer was appointed Honorary President of the HFV at the end of October 2021.

 

Parliamentary

Fischer first won a seat in the Hamburg Parliament in the 1970 Hamburg state election , which he held for three legislative periods until he resigned on February 5, 1981.

From 1980 to 2017 he was a member of the German Bundestag . From 1989 to 2014 he chaired the parliamentary group's transport working group (1998 to 2005: transport, construction and housing, and since 2005: transport, construction and urban development, reconstruction of the East) and thus served as transport policy spokesperson for the CDU/CSU parliamentary group in the Bundestag . In the 18th legislative term he was a full member of the Committee on Transport and Digital Infrastructure and a deputy member of the Committee on Sport . From 1994 to 2014 he was also chairman of the Hamburg regional group in the CDU/CSU parliamentary group.

Dirk Fischer was a directly elected member of parliament in the Hamburg-Nord constituency in 1987, 1990, 1994, 2009 and 2013 and was otherwise always elected to the Bundestag via the Hamburg state list .He was vice-captain of FC Bundestag , for whom he played 528 games.
