My story
As Head of Education and Social Affairs at NXG, Birgit Geercken brings her extensive experience to the development of social projects and educational programmes within the international NXG network. NXG – a global initiative against xenophobia and for peace – benefits from Geercken's expertise in integration work and inclusive education. Among other things, she designs educational programmes that promote tolerance, understanding and a sense of community, and ensures that NXG World Soccer League sporting events are linked to educational initiatives and social measures.
Thanks to her decades of experience, she knows how crucial early childhood education is for peaceful coexistence and helps shape NXG's guidelines accordingly. Her wealth of experience – from working in large educational institutions at the state level to prevention work and innovative educational projects – makes her a key driving force at NXG in the areas of education and social affairs.
